CIVINET Greece-Cyprus team is growing

CIVINET Greece-Cyprus was founded in March 2018 and it is a network of 120 Municipalities and 6 Regions for sustainable mobility, national network of CIVITAS, national multiplier of ELTIS, key partner of the Urban Transports Community, member of MaaS Alliance and ECF, and strategic partner of WALK21.

Its main mission is to promote the principles and objectives of CIVITAS at local level, as well as to highlight the needs and achievements of Greek and Cypriot Local Authorities in Europe.

Its role can be summarised as follows:

i. Raising awareness among stakeholders, citizens and politicians

ii. Capacity building in the public and private sector

iii. Supporting local authorities in financing projects and policies

iv. Supporting governments to adapt the legislation framework

v. Promote the achievements and needs of Greek-speaking local authorities at national and European level

Its activity includes:

1. Implementation of applied research and innovation projects in the framework of European and national funding programmes, such as Interreg MED, Horizon Europe, EIT UM, Erasmus+, Green Fund, etc.

2. Contribution to the strategic planning of cities, through tools such as SUMPs, Circular Tourism Strategies, Electromobility Plans, Accessibility Plans, Local Urban Plans, Regional Plans, Integrated Territorial Investments etc.

3. Contributing to studies for the implementation of sustainable mobility measures and policies in topics such as: urban regeneration, cycling and walking infrastructure, street redesign, parking schemes, public transport, road safety, urban logistics, smart city, electromobility, shared mobility, accessibility infrastructure, etc.

4. Organising informative, awareness-raising, public consultation and participatory planning campaigns.

5. Organisation of training and networking activities such as webinars, workshops, conferences, study tours, multi-month programmes, etc.

6. Translation and/or drafting of guidelines and training materials for practitioners.

7. Provision of services in return to full members of the Network.

8. Provision of consulting services to private sector and developing synergies.

9. Obtaining sponsorships and grants.

10. Preparing funding proposals on behalf of the local authorities.

In the context of this multifunctional action of the network, it is desirable to cover more than one job in different fields, with the option of full or part-time, remote or face-to-face cooperation. Jobs that do not require daily, face-to-face cooperation may also be filled by permanent residents of other cities in Greece or abroad.

The minimum requirements for all positions are:

1) University degree

2) Strong command in English

3) Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint)

4) Ability to travel within and outside of Greece for a few days

5) 3 years of experience in a field related to the job

Additional qualifications that will be positively evaluated:

1) Excellent use of Greek language in oral and written communication

2) Master’s degree in a subject related to the job

3) Proficiency degree in English

4) Knowledge of specialised software for use in studies and research on subjects related to sustainable mobility

5) Experience of working for a reputable international organisation

The available positions are:

Position A: Responsible for the management of European projects and the drafting of relevant proposals.

Position B: Responsible for the development of urban planning and mobility studies, with the ability to collect, process and analyse spatial, quantitative and qualitative data and to prepare technical reports and tenders.

Position C: Responsible for mapping, design and graphic work, with the ability to produce photorealistic illustrations of the proposed solutions and to prepare comprehensive presentation documents of the results of a project.

All positions contribute to the administrative support of the company and in particular to the projects in which they are involved.

As some candidates may combine more skills and cover subjects from different jobs, the submission of CVs must necessarily be accompanied by the completion of the following self-assessment and collaboration form.
