Alex Papacharalampous acquired a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece with specialization in Transportation Engineering and a M.Sc. from the Delft University of Technology (TUD), the Netherlands. He has worked as a researcher in TUD performing transportation modelling for TOYOTA in the field of automatic vehicles (application of ADAS) and data analytics for big events for the Amsterdam Institute of Advanced Metropolitan Studies. He performed his thesis for TUD in Dat.Mobility B.V., Deventer, The Netherlands, a company specializing on transportation analysis and data analytics. The thesis is one of the first on utilizing commercial GSM datasets for transportation analysis. Alex has been working at the field of transportation data analysis and transportation engineering since 2012 and has published multiple scientific papers and participated in many international conferences as a presenter on the aforementioned subjects. In 2016, he founded AETHON Engineering which is working on research and innovation projects for smart cities, sustainable mobility, public transport, logistics, traffic safety and energy. Through AETHON, He has been coordinating technically and managerially all research projects of AETHON. Alex is the product manager of TransiTool, a product that aims to create a digital twin of the Mass Transit system.
